The Land Rover 200TDi

Introduced between 1989 and 1994, the Land Rover 200Tdi engine succeeded the older 2.5-litre diesel, debuting in the Defender.  Appreciated for its sturdiness and reliability, the 200Tdi is known for delivering substantial power over the older 12 and 19j engines. With a 2.5-litre capacity and four cylinders, it outputs 112bhp and 187.34 (254Nm) torque. It's favored for its longevity and fuel efficiency. Some enthusiasts prefer it over the newer 300Tdi for its fuel economy. Properly maintained, the 200Tdi is celebrated for its reliability, especially in demanding off-road conditions, with initial mechanical issues resolved early in its lifecycle.  Thankfully repair parts can still be acquired for these engines.
